On February 2018 I took the Koko Head Stairs Challenge. I felt intimidaded by the idea of doing it and honestly didn't think I would be able to make all the way to the top. Nicole was the encouraging angel that took me to this spot and said "lets just see how far you go before you give up". we went on an easy pace stopping frequently to admire the view. we made it all the way to the top and back. It turned out to be a lot easier than i imagined . It was challenging though, I couldn't believe i made it in one piece. In the end i realized this is how I want to live my life; challenging myself and push the limits. This day was ideal. It was a cool rainy afternoon and some storms we passing by and over spraying us. It was so incredible to be able to see so clearly the wall of rain falling in the ocean, and moving so quickly. Everything was wet and slippery so we had to be careful on every step, but the temperature was perfect as it always is in Hawaii. The pink Hibiscus is a species that is found on the Koko Head District Park. This specimen represented in this painting however was a gift to Nicole as a thank you for that amazing day. I didn't actually see any on the path by the stairs but i painted it there as a wishful thought perhaps.
